love

"Love, in the Christian sense, does not mean an emotion. It is a state not of the feelings but of the will; that state of the will which we have naturally about ourselves, and must learn to have about other people." -C.S. Lewis

  1. I am sure you know the song, b/c it is played at almost ANY wedding....”Celebrate good times...come on...it’s a celebration...”

Also, though you didn’t verbalize the question, the question just seems to be there anyway doesn’t it? :) Though is it really obvious?

I also like..."love is a state of will... which we have naturally about ourselves" So true!

  2. I love this quote.

I remember being told once (when I was a teen or pre-teen) (In other words- AGES ago)(goodness, we're old, Creth):

    "Love is a choice"

At the time, I didn't really 'get' it, (and, I probably still don't- fully), but that sentence keeps coming back to me, all these years later.

Anyway, that Lewis is always sayin' somethin'...isn't he?

  3. (PS. Now that you are 24, I am forced to call you old. Until next month, when I turn 25-- then you will go back to being young.)
