"The Scotch catechism says that man's chief end is 'to glorify God and enjoy him forever.' But we shall then know that these are the same thing. Fully to enjoy is to glorify. In commanding us to glorify Him, God is inviting us to enjoy Him." -C.S. Lewis
Sooooo...??????? "this present life is very much like a night's sleep" meaning restless??? like night's sleep is usually restless? Sorry I was a bit lost.
ReplyDeleteCRAP huh? Must be messy stuff
I'm not sure where you're going with that thought (restless/night's sleep/yada yada...)
ReplyDeleteCome back to it, if you get a chance.
You've piqued my interest...
So I understand to some degree what you wrote, but exactly how does that apply? I mean are you saying that we will always feel restless until we are in heaven?
ReplyDelete"focus is so hard to attain during sleep, there is always misunderstanding around the corner" Also I didn't understand this at all.
I await your reply on Emily's blog so you don't have to double post comments. :)
ReplyDeleteSOMEBODY didn't take his happy pills today. YIKES! Guess I won't make that comment EVER again. :)
ReplyDeletebut oh how it made me laugh...laughter is good...
Just trying to save you some typing time. I do appreciate your thoughtfulness.
Yeah I agree that in general we will always be restless, but I think there are specific times of restlessness that are short-term and that are maybe changes that God is bringing about and that "type" of restlessness will be short-term. Whoa..long sentence. Does that make sense?
ReplyDeleteOh don't worry....I don't take you seriously. Well I guess sometimes I do...but you know what I mean. I needed that laugh!
ReplyDeleteThoughtfulness going all around...
Ok so I NEVER look at the word verification for words like you do, but "Jen" was in there!
Yes "Jen" was there...it was amazing. Like a personalized word verification all for me...
ReplyDeleteIt seems we agree on "restlessness"
I can't do this back and worth thing. It confuses me. I'm simple.
ReplyDeleteI'll comment on my own blog (*gasp*)
hahahaha, Emily!! Right there with you! I think I will just be "content" having no idea what in the world this conversation was all about :o).
ReplyDeleteYes, Creth, you are right. The heart is the place of our true existence! Even scarier!!
Kathryn is the author, but for now, she works through me.
You are awesome, Creth!!! I wish I could meet you! There is no lack of dedication to the blogger world here. Just a really busy little Mama ;o)!
ReplyDelete(word verification: kihup - makes me think of ketchup. I really hate ketchup.)
