"you say, 'if I had a little more, I should be very satisfied.' You make a mistake. If you are not content with what you have, you would not be satisfied if it were doubled." -C.H. Spurgeon
I just watched a DVD teaching series last night and this guy was talking about exactly this!
We all like to play the game...."If only I had such and such, or my life would change in this way...THEN I would be satisfied or happy." Like spoiled children, we "think" we want more and more. That is something I battle daily.
I was looking at some stuff on the internet last night, and came across some little gingerbread girls called "Ginger Girls", and it reminded me of "The Ginger Man" and I thought, "When Jen moves to TX, she, Emily, and Lindi should all open up a little 'pontification' spot called 'The Ginger Girls'."
Sorry, Jen. No, Creth, I will not "make Jen move to TX". That would be CRAZY of me!!! I would, in essence, be telling her to "move away from me"!!!! She would be TWICE as far from me!! :( However, I would support her in that decision if she so chose. But, since she has at the present time chosen NOT to do that, I will just continue to make jokes about it. ;o)
I think an Island theme sounds super fun!!! I would come!!!
Amen! And, could you just repost this comment every day on your blog? I need to be reminded of this every single day that I live! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSo as not to ruin my "new" reputation, I'm not going to comment on your last comment :oP
ReplyDeleteMy gut feeling is that Jason has told you how to get me really worked up...

I know, I know, I was just giving you a hard time :)
ReplyDeleteHey, great pic!!! Love the change. But now, what exactly is the name of your blog?
New Artwork!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it.
I didn't know you worked in pastels (or is that acrylic? hard to tell on the computer...)
Anyway, awesome-- Movement, flow, color...the entire composition.
Oh, and one more thing...

Good idea?
First of all I loved...."when Jen moves to Tx" What a relief to know it has been decided for me. Whew... :)
ReplyDeleteSecondly...."Ginger Girls"...I think of Ginger from Gilligan's Island, so maybe an island theme Emily and Lindi?
Thirdly...yes Creth, nice picture.
HA...wow. I've never seen that one.
ReplyDeleteWhat's it called?
AND...It was believable as your own, because it's quite similar to a 'piece' you did once in crayon on a paper table cloth...do you remember the one?
I've said this before, but you SHOULD paint...you know you have talent- you just don't know that WE know, ya know?
(but, we're on to you...)
